ZTA Material (Zirconia toughened alumina)
The successful application of technical ceramic components depends on selecting the right material. We have expanded our material portfolio to include the mixed oxide ceramic ZTA (Zirconia Toughened Alumina), a composite of aluminum oxide and zirconium oxide.
ZTA achieves higher flexural strength and superior surface quality compared to pure aluminum oxide, while maintaining a lower material cost than pure zirconia. Depending on the specific field of application, the zirconia content can vary between 2% and 20%.
Fields of application: Components subject to high mechanical and tribological stress.
