ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
AT VOGT GMBH
We will show you how technical ceramics contribute to greater efficiency and environmental protection.
VOGT GmbH – Environmental and Climate Protection
We set standards in environmental protection with a completely CO2-neutral energy supply.
As part of our climate protection efforts, we compensate 100% of the CO2 emissions from our gas consumption and source our entire electricity requirement from renewable energy sources.
For many years, we have been producing our own green electricity via our extensive photovoltaic system.
Sustainability is a central concern for us. Our carbon offsetting measures and the use of renewable energies are only one part of our responsible corporate management.
We remain committed to our goal of further reducing our environmental impact in the future and making a positive contribution to environmental protection. Thus, at VOGT, we set an important standard for sustainability and demonstrate our commitment to the responsible use of resources.
Environmental Protection at VOGT
VOGT GmbH is dedicated to the preservation and protection of the environment. In production, we continuously work on reducing environmental impact and conserving resources.
A particular focus is placed on improving our carbon footprint. We offset all emissions generated by our company vehicles.
Since March 2018, we have been certified according to DIN EN ISO 14001:2015.
We use Climate-Neutral Packaging
By using climate-neutral packaging from our regional supplier, Lindner Verpackungen, we have been making a further contribution to environmental protection since January 2020 and supporting recognized climate protection projects.
To achieve this, the CO2 emissions generated during packaging production are calculated and offset through internationally recognized climate protection projects. A "Climate Neutral" label with an ID number makes the process transparent and traceable. Supported projects are regularly audited by independent bodies.
Participation in the Bavarian Environmental Pact
The Bavarian Environmental Pact is an agreement between the Bavarian State Government and the Bavarian business community. Our voluntary measures and personal responsibility in environmental protection form the basis for our participation.
Specifically, our solar power system, which has been continuously expanded since 2011, contributes to meeting our energy needs. Today, around one-third of the required energy comes from regenerative solar power.
With the acquisition of our first electric car in 2018, we are also playing our part in the transition to sustainable mobility. The charging current for the vehicle also comes from our solar system.
Further measures include our CO2-neutral fleet, offsetting air travel, and the use of state-of-the-art, eco-friendly technologies.
Photovoltaic System for Clean Energy
Since July 1, 2011, our company building has featured a photovoltaic system with SCHOTT solar modules. The system is primarily used to cover our operational electricity needs and helps us make a sustainable contribution to environmental protection.
The PV system was expanded to 56.5 kWp in the autumn of 2012 and most recently to 83 kWp at the beginning of 2018. It now covers approximately 30% of our total electrical energy requirements with eco-friendly, renewable energy.
eMobility – The Renault Kangoo Z.E.
We are breaking new ground in mobility with the acquisition of a fully electric small van.
Since early 2018, a Renault Kangoo Z.E. with a range of around 200 km has been available to our employees for daily service trips.
Carbon Footprint – Our Ecological Footprint
In 2013, we introduced a CO2-neutral fleet. The CO2 emissions generated by our vehicles (currently 9 cars) are fully compensated through the myclimate.org kortal with certified climate protection projects. This results in a saving of approximately 48 tonnes of CO2 per year.
Furthermore, we travel CO2-neutrally via atmosfair.de for both private and business flights, thus making a valuable contribution to climate protection.
Use of State-of-the-Art Technologies
Transition to LED Lighting
In September 2014, VOGT GmbH took the next step in energy saving by switching to LED lighting.
We replaced a total of 200 conventional fluorescent tubes and lamps with high-efficiency, latest-generation LEDs. This allowed us to reduce the maximum power required for lighting by more than two-thirds (from 11.5 kW to 3.7 kW). This step achieves a remarkable annual energy saving of around 17,000 kWh!
In addition to high energy efficiency, LED technology offers a lifespan up to 15 times longer than conventional lamps – thereby conserving resources and avoiding waste.
