The successful use of components made of technical ceramics depends on the selection of the appropriate material. We have expanded our range of materials with the mixed oxide ceramic ZTA, consisting of aluminum oxide and zirconia. ZTA (zirconia toughened alumina) achieves higher flexural strength and better surface quality than pure aluminum oxide and a lower material price than pure zirconium oxide. Depending on the application, the zirconia content is variable between 2% and 20%. Field of application: mechanically and tribologically highly stressed components.
